Leroy was taken mostly by surprise by a brown dog that had patches of fur missing. At least he thought it was brown. I was hard to tell with his doggy vision. Not to mention it was not a big concern to him as his opponent bit into his neck.
Leroy let out a growling yelp as he bit into the other dog's neck in return. They circled each other like that for a moment before escaping each other's grasp. They lunged for each other again, except Leroy couldn't. Another, smaller dog had clamped down on his rear leg. He took the full force of the brown dog's impact and they tumbled across the park grass in a vicious flurry of teeth and nails.
Leroy kicked and bit at anything within range. He was in a tight spot and didn't want this to be the way it ended. <<We need to get out of here!>> he said in between taking and giving a bite wound. He wasn't sure if he said that just to Johnny and Nate, or to everyone in the park, but at the moment he didn't really care.

<<Good idea!>> Nate called back to Leroy as he fought his way out from under the dog he was fighting once again. He jumped back, baring his teeth, trying not to let the dog get the upper hand again. <<Any suggestions? They'll just chase after us, won't they?>>
They must have been on these dogs' territory, he thought. Why else would these dogs be so immediately vicious towards them? He tried his best to look for escape routes while warding off the bites of the other dog, but every place he could spot was just as easy for the dog gang to reach as well.

Johnny bolted just as a blur rushed through the spot he had been. He took off running towards the girls again. Maybe they could offer some protection. While running, he twisted his head around to check out his pursuit when he saw only one dog. He altered his course to run by the road, hoping that it would give him more time to figure out what to do.
He heard a van or something come up beside him but he was unconcerned. He was a dog. What could it do to him? He wasn't on the road. He turned his head back to look for the other dog, and saw that it was gone. The van probably scared it off. Slowing down a bit, Johnny peered up at the van and could just barely read the words. Mar Pos City Do Getcher. He stopped and then turned around, running right back where he ran from. He heard a door slam behind him, but paid it no more attention.
He also didn't pay attention when the man in khaki clothes and a lasso-pole began walking towards the dogs.

Leroy scrapped with the stray dogs a bit more before one of them seemed to run off for no reason. But hey, Leroy wasn't about to complain. He still had another, smaller dog clamped firmly to one of his hind legs. It wouldn't be there for long.
Leroy reached around with his neck, clamped down on the dog just behind its shoulder-blades and wrenched it free with all his might. The little mutt flew about five feet through the air before landing, just as a fresh wave of pain hit him. He had a feeling ripping that dog away had done more harm than good. <<I gotta find a place to demo->>
"Gatcha!" Leroy suddenly found himself bound on the end of a lasso-pole. Out of the frying pan, and into the fire. He struggled for a moment before giving up and looking to see if any of his teammates had also been captured.
<<Guys, I'm caught,>> Leroy stated pathetically.
