"How on earth did that one girl manage to kill an entire group of Animorphs on her own? Where do you find an animal hardcore enough that not even one animal-morphing superhero could even just escape?"
Agent Sheen wasn't sure how exactly to answer that question. He knew the answer, of course, but he couldn't exactly divulge that information. Not without going against his orders anyway. He almost regretted it. Almost.
Luckily Hope asked a question that gave him a bit more time to think on it.
"I have one more question. Agent Cassidy told me when I was recruited that Arbella was the city I was going to be sent to. How.... how close was I to being in that group that was killed by Sarah?"
"If you had been recruited a day earlier, you probably would have been here when it happened. However, don't let that shake you up. It is true that you may have died if you were here, but it is also true that you may have changed the circumstances enough that more people would have survived. At any rate, it won't do anyone any good to dwell on it." Agent Sheen hoped that answer had been satisfactory, but he wasn't sure. It was nearly impossible to tell exactly how someone would react.
Now, with the knob to the front door already turned, he answered the other question. The one he was having a bit of trouble with. "And Kieth," He said, "You have to keep in mind that it is both easier and harder to take a person's life than most people think. On one hand, people can take an extraordinary amount of physical punishment without letting go of their last strands of life." His eyes flashed over towards Rox. From reading her file, he knew she had some experience with this. "But on the other hand, something as simple as a cough-drop stuck in someone's throat can be responsible for their death."
"All in all, it didn't matter if Sarah had any morphs. She would have been just as capable of killing off a room full of people either way. And as long as she came out with her life, no matter how close to dying her body might have been, she would have been able to repair her body due to the morphing technology we gave her. So to answer your question, if she managed to acquire a dangerous animal, it may not have had a lot to do with what actions she took anyway. But nonetheless, I suggest you try and one-up her before you meet."
He was a bit surprised that he had managed to come up with all that, but he tried not to let it show. He pulled open the door and said, "Now if you will please excuse me, I really should be going." He stepped through the doorway and pulled it closed behind him. Well, that wasn't sooo bad, Agent Sheen thought to himself. I'm just glad they didn't ask why the original group was here to begin with. He walked down the hallway without even a glance back. They were on their own now.
