Tyler looked up at the apartment building, trying not to let her confusion show. According to the slip of paper in her hand, this would be her new home. The thought wasn't very comforting - she didn't want Texas. She'd never even been out of Alabama, until now. She pushed a sudden rush of homesickness away - now was no time to be a baby.
She adjusted the backpack on her left shoulder, hoisted her small suitcase on her right, but still she couldn't get her feet to move forward. She swallowed nervously, glancing around. Was she supposed to knock? That would probably be the most polite option, in stead of just barging in.
It was times like these when she wished she lived on her own - well, not completely alone. Just herself and her dog. She had been able to talk the agent that had recruited her into let her keep her dog - he had 'died' along with her in a fire - and now she regretted having to keep him at a kennel. She would have felt better if she'd had Bandit by her side - he always made her smile, even if she felt ready to die. But she didn't know how her... team mates... would respond to having a drooly, long-eared hound in their apartment. And so, it was the kennel for him.
So, taking a deep breath and summoning her courage, she took a hesitant step forward and knocked on the door, waiting patiently for someone to come and answer.

"That must be the pizza," Leroy said aloud when he heard the knock at the door. He paused the movie he was watching and went to get the door. The Wizard of Oz would have to wait.
"How much do I-" he started to say as he pulled open the door. But he stopped mid-sentence as he noticed it wasn't the pizza guy. "Umm. Hello?" He didn't recognize her and it took him a moment to notice the suitcase she was holding.
"Ooooh, hello. Come on in. I'm Leroy. You must be the, uh, new recruit?" Leroy didn't want to let any secrets slip out of his mouth until he was sure she was one of them.

Allie was toweling her hair again as she walked out of her room, not that she'd get it too much drier than it was that way. She didn't want to mess with a hair dryer at the moment though. She'd just gotten off work at the ranch, and she was always lazy after that. At least now she could be lazy and not smell like a barn.
She'd come out because she'd heard Leroy stop the movie he'd been watching, so she'd assumed the food was here. As it turned out there was a girl in the doorway with a suitcase. "Oh, is she the new recruit? They never forewarn us more than telling us someone is coming this way. A gender now and then would be nice."
She kept drying her hair as she spoke, so now and then her words would get partly muffled by the towel passing in front of her face. After a moment she stopped knowing it was really pointless. "Hi, I'm Alison. Allie for short."

Great, she thought to herself. They obviously hadn't know I was coming. "Uh, hi, I'm Tyler, nice to meet ya'll," she quickly introduced herself as she stepped inside the building. "And yeah, you could say that. Our, um, our mutual friend sent me." Tyler swallowed hesitantly.
Her eyes drifted to the TV. "Wizard of Oz?" She asked, looking between Allie and Leroy with a small smile. "Good movie." Then she adjusted her luggage again. "So, uh, where do I need to put my things?"

Leroy looked her up and down again as she entered the apartment. He tried not to make it seem creepy or perverted, because it wasn't. He was just trying to size her up. Figure out why SPECTER had chosen her.
Not that it helped. Leroy still wasn't sure why he himself was chosen. "Well, welcome to the group, Tyler. Help yourself to some pizza when it arrives. In the meantime, I think Allie can help get you situated. I'm sure she knows better than I do where you can put your stuff. I don't usually stray into the girls' rooms." Leroy had a grin on his face, but tried to hide it by turning to close the door.

So it seemed it was Allie's job to help Tyler find a room. Well, she could do that easily. Leroy never went in the girl rooms while Allie had to. It kind of made sense logically.... actually it made complete sense and Allie just wanted to be lazy, but oh well.
"Nice to meet you Tyler. I can show you which rooms have girls in them. You're welcome to join whomever you want or I think there might be one empty female room."
Allie lead the way down the hall that contained rooms, indicating doors and names. She also made a short stop in the bathroom to get the towel out of her hands. When they reached one door she stuck her head in and checked. "Yeah, this room is empty so if you don't feel like sharing you want to go here. I'd offer to let you join me, but I have a roommate at the current moment."

Ty followed Allie around, trying to remember all the names and where the doors led. Once she got to the empty room, she smiled. "Thanks. But, uh, if it's no trouble, I'd like the empty room. Oh, and you can call me Ty, if you'd like."
She sat her bags down inside, then she remembered to ask the most important question there was. She looked back at Allie, a small, hopeful smile on her face. "Uh, I have a question - what are the rules on pets here? I mean, I have a dog, and I really didn't want to step on any toes if he wasn't allowed to be here."

"It's no trouble at all Ty. Trust me, it took me a while to decide on anyone I wanted as a roommate. Until then I had a room to myself. Now I share one with Nadia." And then there was the fact that initially, at the very start, Allie and Leroy had been the first two there and there was no way she'd have shared a room with him.
Allie was about to go as Ty started to move in, when the other girl asked her a question. She had a dog, and she wanted to know if she could keep him here. Allie laughed before answering. "Ty, I've turned into a horse in the living room. I think as long as the dog didn't go bonkers every time someone morphed he'd be fine here. We all morph into various forms here anyways so one more animal hardly makes a difference." She smiled and added, "And I'm fairly sure everyone else would say it's fine too."

Jeremy came out of his room when he heard the unfamiliar voice. He had decided to do a quick web search for clues about the terrorists he was supposed to be hunting. Then he would join the others for Oz.
The web search, as usual, had turned up blank. It seemed that no authority had a file for any terrorist group that didn't like aliens. He threw his hands up in the air in frustration, then decided to see who the new voice belonged to. He found her and Allie in a previously empty room.
"We're getting a dog?" he said. "What breed?" He liked dogs. More importantly, though, he wanted to be able to turn into one. "Hi, I'm Jeremy."

Ty couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief when Allie shared about having a roommate, and about Bandit being able to stay with her. "Oh, that's great," she smiled. At first she'd felt a little weird moving in with a bunch of strangers, and that weirdness was still there, just at the back of her mind. Allie seemed friendly enough, and Leroy was nice, too. It would take some getting used to, but she would give it her best shot.
She was startled by the new voice, but turned towards him and gave a hesitant smile. "Oh, hi. I'm Tyler - or Ty. Whichever." She shrugged, before remembering he'd asked about her dog. "Oh, he's a Basset Hound. Complete with long ears, short legs, and never-ending drool," she continued to smile. "But he's very calm - except after baths. He gets a little... hyper after baths." She realized she was rambling, and decided to shut up. Lord knows she didn't want to annoy her team mates the first day.

Her face lit up when she was talking about the dog. It was kinda like his younger brother when he used to talk about his spelling tests. He would run up, his face shining like the sun to show that he could spell. Apparently it was very exciting. For him. Jeremy bit his lip and made himself not sigh. He missed his family again.
"He sounds sweet," said Jeremy, smiling. Basset hound didn't sound like such a useful morph, but it would be nice to have a dog. Jeremy liked dogs. Even drooly ones.

Leroy listened to part of the conversation for a bit, but was soon distracted by the pizza actually arriving. By the time he paid the delivery guy and set the pizza down, it seemed Ty had already gotten her room picked out. He got back to the group just in time to hear about the dog that would be moving in with them.
"A little guy, huh? That shouldn't be so bad. Kinda fun, actually. I'm just glad you don't have a great dane or St. Bernard or something." Leroy chuckled a bit and scratched behind his head nervously. He wasn't quite sure how to this newcomer yet. But he was sure they would get to know each other eventually, just as he had gotten to know everyone else.

Allie smiled when the reactions of Jeremy and Leroy proved to only further her argument that she didn't think anyone would mind the dog coming to live with the faction. "See, I told you. People will be cool with him being around. We've had way more exotic things parading around this appartment when people have tried out morphs."
From the smell it appeared the pizza had arrived. "Looks like the food is here. You want to go eat? Afterward maybe someone can go with you to pick up your dog. Where do you have him right now?" She would assume that it had to be somewhere nearby. No doubt SPECTER had been convinced to let Ty keep the dog and had faked his death as well as hers. Though it was the first time Allie had heard of them doing that, not that anyone else ever mentioned having had a pet.

Tyler nodded to Jeremy, then looked up as Leroy spoke. She smiled a little bit as she replied, "Yeah, having a big dog like one of those would definitely not be easy in a place like this." Most definitely not - she remembered one of her friends back home having a dog that was part St. Bernard and part Lab, and she drooled even more than Bandit did. She faught down the homesickness that rose up when she thought about that, and quickly pushed the thought away, looking at Allie as she spoke again.
She smiled. "I imagine," she replied to Allie's comment about having more exotic animals parading around the apartment than a simple hound. That was another thing to worry about - morphs. I'll add it to my check list, she thought to herself, before realizing that Allie had spoken again. "Oh, yeah, sure," she could smell the pizza - and it smelled good. "Oh, the kennel isn't that far from here - just a few minutes up the road. I was planning on walking up there to get him later."

Leroy went and grabbed a slice of pizza and munched on it as he talked. It was still hot, so he couldn't eat it very fast anyway. "I can go with you when you pick him up, if you want. Show you what's in the neighborhood and whatnot." Leroy wasn't exactly sure what would be interesting to show her between here and there, but he figured it was a nice gesture anyway. The Laundromat maybe?
Since he couldn't think of anything else interesting to ask Tyler off the top of his head, Leroy went for the obvious topic of interest. "So, uh, have you tried it yet? Have you had a chance to turn into anything?" That question brought back memories of him morphing a green weevil in this very apartment. Leroy just hoped that she picked/would pick a better first morph than he had.
