Chocolate-chip cookie dough or rainbow sherbet? Johnny thought as he approached the incredibly long line at the ice cream vendor. Suddenly, amidst all of the noise surrounding him, he heard what might've been a whisper but it caught his attention. He twisted his neck and saw two familiar looking arms waving. Then he saw Inyx with some ice cream.
His eyes widened in terror as he marched towards the group. Leroy was there and Nate as well. "Hey peoples," He said in greeting, but stayed a little bit of distance away from Inyx. Nothing personal, but he thought she was a little strange and he didn't want anybody to associate them together, altohugh they were associated together. Johnny just didn't want anybody to know that.

"Hey! Johnny!" Nate greeted the newbie, waving his candy apple in the air. "You look like a fellow with licking experience, care to divulge some secrets?" He grinned and chomped down on the apple, finally taking a good bite out of it. Mmmm. Perfect candy apple indeed...
He paused, mid-bite, looking off into the distance kind of thoughtfully. "Hey...uh, guys? Be casual. Don't all look at the same time. ...is that guy over there watching us?"

OOC: I am a terrible person please forgive me
Nate's jokes were completely lost on Inyx, who only stared at him, perplexed. Then he began to lick at his own strange contraption, and she stared in amazement, eyebrows shooting up. "That is an edible item?" Her own ice cream cone was momentarily forgotten. "What is it's taste?" Taste, she mouthed again, savoring the word, though she kept herself from actually saying it--she found that humans didn't tend to appreciate playing with their words.
Someone else joined them, and Inyx's momentary lapse in ice-creaming eating was quickly resumed. It was beginning to melt and she had to be deft to keep it from dripping onto her hands. Nate mentioned that someone might be watching them, and she couldn't help herself. She tried to peek to look at him. It was hard to explain 'don't stare' to an alien used to being able to see 360 degrees at once. She tried to remain as "casual" as possible, and then looked back to their group.
"Is it abnormal for human teenagers to be observed?"

"uh... I dunno, but I'm thinking we either move somewhere else or split up again or something. Just in case." Nate tried not to look in the direction of the suspicious guy in case it drew attention, but he couldn't help but sneak a quick peek again. Yup. Still watching in their direction. "...I dunno... maybe he's just checking Inyx out, but he's giving me the heebie jeebies."
He glanced around the circus grounds for somewhere else they could go. He noted carefully some of the attractions he realized would suddenly come in very handy if need be. "...reptile show, big cat tent, petting zoo... handy hideouts anyone? thoughts?"

Inyx blinked, and continued to eat her ice cream at an alarming rate. Now that she had the technique down, she was quite efficient. The coldness produced a strange almost painful feeling in her teeth, but the sweetness of the ice cream was overwhelming enough that she could ignore it. "Checking me out?" She paused to asked, bluntly confused. "What is the checking process, and where am I being taken?"
She looked between them, and then blushed heavily. It was probably an idiom, some saying. Inyx quickly looked back to her frozen treat, embarassed for having asked. <<I have a total of 27 minutes and 35 seconds before I will need to demorph,>> she announced to them. <<Will this man interfere?>>

Leroy had followed Nate's advice and refrained from looking to see who was watching them. It was difficult to restrain his curiosity, but he managed. Hopefully it was just some creepy guy that watched random people, but hanging out with an alien seemed to make people paranoid for some reason. Leroy was no exception.
Only 27 minutes, Leroy noted to himself. They should be able to lose someone in 27 minutes, right? "Splitting up sounds good," Leroy commented quietly. "Two of us can go one way, two can go the other, and whoever doesn't get followed can watch the person who is watching us." Leroy suddenly felt as if he were in some sort of spy movie.

"Ex-cuuuse me?" Johnny said to Nate. "Are you implying something there? I'll have you no that I possess no experience in that area at all." He glared at Nate for an added effect. Inyx seemed content to lick her ice cream and Leroy was just standing there.
Then Nate noticed a creepy-stalker-dude-person who was staring at them. And why not? We're just three weord teens and an alien from outer space who are all standing in a group at a circus eating ice cream a candy apple, or just standing. C'mon! Doesn't that happen everyday?
THen they decided to split up. "Okay," He said quickly. "C'mon Leroy, you're with me," He grabbed Leroy by the arm and tried to drag him away from the group. He had needed to choose fast and Leroy was his best friend there. "Where are we going to meet up?

<<Are we splitting into pairs?>> Inyx didn't bother talking with her mouth any more. If they were about to go into hiding, she wouldn't be able to finish off her ice cream. She needed to eat as much of it as possible before they decided to split up.
<<I am not familiar with the standard exhibits at a "circus." My primary objective was to sample as many food portions as possible. I will follow whomever necessary.>>

"Guess it's you and me," Nate shrugged at Inyx as soon as Johnny claimed Leroy. "We should find you a place to... um... do your business." He decided not to say 'morph' out loud, just in case. Dang, it would have been lucky to have thought speak as a human some times...
He glanced around again at the places he'd scoped out. "I don't know... nothing's probably happening at the cat tent right now, so it might be a good secluded spot for you. And maybe we can see them in their cages? Or maybe we could join the crowd at the reptile show and try to blend in and shake off the guy?"

<<Secluded sounds like it would be the best decision,>> Inyx said, now down to the last flavor on her ice cream cone. <<I would not like to become a human nothlit--though there are certainly worse species to be stuck as,>> she added hastily, as if he might take offense.
<<I was planning on demorphing and remorphing in one of the large vehicles they transport horses in. The security appeared lax, but if we are being followed, it might be very easy to track us to that spot.>> With a few last crunchy bites she devoured the rest of the cone.

Leroy allowed himself to be pulled along by Johnny. He was a bit worried that Inyx and Nate would get distracted by something shiny if left by themselves, but he had to trust them. "I guess we meet wherever we meet," Leroy said to Johnny as they moved away from the other two.
"So where are you leading me? We better actually go somewhere since right now you look like you are determined to get someplace." Leroy tried to casually glance over the crowd to get a glimpse of their stalker, but he was unable to pick anyone specific out of the swarm of people. Then, not for the first time, he wondered if Nadia or Nicolai were working today.

"Well, wherever we're going, it had better not be the bird show," Johnny said in a low voice. He took his hand off of Leroy's as he just walked in a random direction. He began to move past the throngs when he saw the perfect place to escape. A Magic show! And it was starting in two minutes. PErfect. It should be dark in thjere, right?
"Ooo, ooo, oo!" Johnny almost shouted as he hurredly pointed to the magic tent. He grabbed Leroy's arm again and whispered (whiloe still pointing) and said, "Leroy! The tent should be dark. We can morph to escape in case the stalker dude is following." Then he began shouting again. He had to make it look normal, right? Didn't everyone go crazy over a dark magic show?

"Horse transport, makes sense," Nate nodded. "Lets go that way then." He couldn't help but noticed how fast she'd eaten the ice cream and found himself quite impressed. He made a mental note to challenge her to an eating contest at some point in the not so distant future.
He waved after Leroy and Johnny and then headed in the direction he figured the horses were loaded and unloaded. It was a good idea considering when she de-morphed she'd have hooves. If anyone questioned it, the hoof sounds could pass as a horse inside. He couldn't believe he hadn't thought of that first.

Inyx wasn't exceptionally good with weaving between crowds--she didn't like the close press of bodies, felt embarassed and strange to pass so near to other sentient creatures. That, and she fell like if she fell down she'd be trampled underfoot. She was glad to let Nate take the lead, trying to stay in the opening of space that he created as he walked towards the horse area.
When they got to the barrier--which was nothing more than a bit of rope signifying the end of the public area and the start of the worker area--it was easy enough to cross. The workers didn't have uniforms and many of them were fairly young; just added stable hands that took care of cleaning after the horses and getting them ready. The two of them weren't terribly out of place.
<<There is a young female leading a horse out of the trailer on the left. It will be empty once she leaves.>>

Nate nodded, not wanting to speak out loud and draw more attention to themselves as they tried to act casual, like they belonged in the "behind the scenes" area. He slowed walking to allow more time for the handler to remove the horse and eventually disappear around a corner.
"There," he said, barely above a whisper. "Okay, quick." He motioned her towards the empty trailer. "I'll wait out here and keep watch. Keep an ear out just in case you hear me talking to anyone. It'll probably be me trying to convince someone I work here."
