"Unfortunately, yes I have seen them. I even acquired one. Well, two technically, but one claimed he wasn't affiliated with the others." Bruno still wasn't sure if he should believe that hyena nothlit from the Hemington Zoo.
"So far all the "bad" nothlits I have seen had bird bodies, but I'm sure there are others. We followed them to a hideout but haven't gone inside yet. In fact, we haven't gone back there at all. I personally don't have any morphs that would blend into the surroundings, and going in as a human is out of the question. Especially if there really are some yeerks there looking for host bodies." Bruno tried conceal the shiver going down his spine at the thought.

The use of bird bodies as potential scouts seemed fairly obvious, but beyond that Ivrim couldn't draw any more conclusions. At Bruno's mention that he didn't have any morphs that would blend into the area, both of the Andalite's stalk-eyes stopped swiveling to focus on the human for a few seconds, before returning to their habitual motions. Ivrim could only hope that meant Bruno was as new to this as he was.
<Well, it sounds like acquiring some inconspicuous morphs and checking out this 'hideout' should be a priority.> He paused, suddenly feeling self-conscious. <Based on what you've told me, of course. I wouldn't want to presume any sort of command. Is there anyone considered de jure or even simply a de facto leader?>

"No, no, you're right. Some reconnaissance is definitely on the to-do list," Bruno assured Ivrim. He was a bit embarrassed that they still hadn't done even that. As an animorph group, they were pretty disorganized and had no clear direction. They pretty much had to figure out everything as they went.
"And no, there isn't really a clear-cut leader of our group." Bruno momentarily considered calling himself the leader, since that was what a tough guy like himself would probably be expected to be. However, he found the idea of actually being responsible for others' lives to be much too daunting.
"I figured SPECTER would have been leading us, giving us missions and objectives. But I haven't really heard from them since I was dropped off. Every once and a while they let us know that a new recruit is arriving, but that's about it." Bruno tried not to fixate on all the ways SPECTER was below his expectations. It would only get him all riled up.
