((OOC: Maybe you could have Rox see the trucks? That might make things more interesting =] Probably not my best post, but I want to keep things moving...))
<Oh God! Now I'll never get out of here alive!> Leopold heard in his mind.
<Not on my watch,> he replied; he wouldn’t let Johnny get hurt. He found it fascinating that he’d been able to morph his phone; it made him consider getting a cell – one of those pay-as-you-talk cells you could buy cards for. But now wasn’t the time.
<I think I'm going to stretch my wings a little bit. Get a better view. Let me know if Johnny makes it out.>
<Alright,> Leopold replied. <And I’m going in. Keep in thought-speak range; I will probably need you to guide the police inside once I find an entrance.> He left his perch for the ceiling of the building, and from there, to the back. There he demorphed, and caught his breath for a few moments before opening the – luckily unlocked – door there a smidgeon, and commencing cockroach morph.
One thing could be said about the cockroach: it could survive almost anything. It was gross, but it was a hardy creature. This was why Leopold had decided to get the morph. But the transition was probably the nastiest he’d done. After the changes were complete, he was a cockroach, and he scampered through the door, and into the bank. He was grateful he’d done the morph before; he always made it a point to try new morphs. (OOC: I’ll eventually make the cockroach thread; too much potential for funny to pass up. XD)
<I’m in,> he said. <Johnny, think you could find a way to get the crooks away from the hostages?> He wasn’t sure what morphs Johnny had, though he knew he’d been an Animorphs for longer than Leo. He scampered down halls, taking note of them. Eventually, he got to the room where the hostages were held.

((But Mark, that would involve Johnny following a guy into the bathroom. Do you know how weird that would be? )) Johnny had just reached the doors and had just been foiked by the rubber seals around the doors, just enough to keep the cold and pesky lizards with a human mind trapped inside or out, when Leo's thought-speak came around. <Johnny, think you could find a way to get the crooks away from the hostages?> <<Leo? That you? Oh good. But wait a second there! How am I supposed to get rid of the hostage-taker-people? Morph eagle and poop on 'em? They've got at least one gun! How else could they hold all of these hostages here in fear? The only thing I have is just a stronger, hairier me!>> But it would have to do. Johnny grumbled to himself and he ran across the ceiling. Minutes, or tens of minutes later, he dropped forever. Then he courled up and bounced off a surface and then he crawled underneath a huge cavern. He hoped his was in the right place. He began to grow and scales began fading, like a really bad rash. As he grew, he bumped his hairy-lizard head on the roof of the surface. Once the last traces of reptile DNA vanished, Johnny focused on a more realted set of DNA. He got bigger and badder. He crawled out from under the desk a bit before resuming his morph. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to fit the massive gorilla frame underneath the clerk's desk. He was in the spot he had hoped to be. On the other side of the desk were the hostages and bad-guys. And quite a few guns, he believed. He wouldn't stand a chance un-armed so he would have to make his own weapons. He grabbed the clerk's rolling chair and in one quick motion, stood up and hurled it with his tremendous strength at the nearest thug. Then he ducked down, hoping he hadn't been seen as he grabbed another chair. ((Johnny can be seen. But probably not by Sarah if we want her to be found out.))

(I'm back)
A motion off to one side, fast and closing on one of the crooks. Before anyone could even mouth a warning it connected, catching the shotgun wielder in the back of the head and throwing him to the ground.
Gunshots resounded as the others turned to fire at where it had come from, or wherever that particular fool thought it had come from. Azrael and Danny happened to be facing the right direction, and while the imposter didn't shoot at all the pistol wielder got off a few rounds into the desk. His/her eyes narrowed as he yelled "Cease fire! We'll end up killing the god**mn hostages!"
The shots tapered off. "Well how do you know it wasn't one of them?" Some of the hostages were weeping, others simply cowering lower. Noone looked like a would be hero.
"I wonder..." Azrael said dryly. "None of them look strong enough to... Oh **mn it someone check on him" He shook his head as he looked at the angle his neck was at. "Never mind... Danny, you saw where whoever threw it was. Scout out." Too strong, too fast... They would have found someone built like that even if they are idiots... This feels bad. He released the clip and checked his ammunition before feeding it back into the rifle. This is going to head south rather quickly...
Pistol at the ready, Danny circled the desk slowly. The others were tense, watching him as outside the sounds of utter chaos still ran strong. Police nervous about the lives of their captives.

Rox had a bad feeling about Leo going in, and a worse one about having Johnny help the hostages, but she didn't have any better ideas, so she didn't comment. If those two wanted to risk their lives for a bunch of people the didn't know, Rox wasn't about to stop them.
However, that didn't stop her from frantically taking flight when she heard shots fired. Part of the reason she flew away from her spot in front of the bank doors was because it is what a real dove would do, but mostly it was because Rox was honestly frightened.
<<Are you guys alright?>> Rox asked after taking a moment to regain thoughts. She circled around above the street a couple times, then landed on a No Parking sign. <<The cops out here are all worked up now. It looks like they might be trying to organize some SWAT teams or something. So... be careful.>>

<<Yikes!>> Johnny yelped in thought-speak as a few rounds embedded themselves in the solid oak of the desk. He was sitting with his back to the desk, gorilla heart hammering in his gorilla chest. Oh God! Tell me that wasn't a snap I heard with the guy's neck! Please! Johnny had only wanted to incapacitate the thug. It had never even crossed his mind to do more serious damage than to break an arm or something. But then he heard someone, the leader maybe?, order "Danny" to check the desk out. Johnny tensed up, hunkering down even more as he heard the man's footsteps tred across the short carpeting. Quick thoughts raced through his mind. He had a chair in one enormous hand, and there were two more rolling chairs only about six or so feet away. But he'd done enough damage with a chair. Instead, he waited, crouching right by a gap between the desks. Judging by the footsteps, that was where the guy would appear. Johnny waited until the right moment... He seized his chance. Going on a speculation, Johnny shot his long arm out and grabbed the first thing he touched. He jerked his hand back and discovered it was an arm. An arm attached to the thug. Johnny blinked in surprise even though that was what he had intended and he lightly (for a gorilla) backhanded the man across the face. Then Johnny jerked the gun from the guy’s hand and rolled the thug across the floor. He gripped both ends of the weapon and started bending it, ending up with something more resembling a horseshoe than a pistol when he was through. And that was when he heard the voice that made his eyes roll around. <<Yeah, Rox. I’m okay, and…wait, what? SWAT teams? No no no! Don’t let ‘em do that! What do you think will happen when they come in here and see a gorilla hunkered down underneath a desk? They’re not going to ask me twenty questions! Poop on them or something to give me time to bail!>> With the news fresh in his mind on what the cops were going to do, Johnny decided a safer place for him would be down the hall that led to the vault. Or in one of the office rooms along the way. Any place that had a window or something for him to fly out through or crawl under would do just find. With a burst of inspiration, he pulled all the drawers on a filing cabinet out and stuck him arm through the now-hollow cabinet. With a his new shield firmly in place, Johnny leaped over a desk, keeping the filing cabinet between him and the thugs, and ran/ knuckle-walked as fast as a gorilla could towards the hallway. For the moment he was out of sight but the cover could only last a few more seconds. Johnny pushed open a door, taking a little care not to break it, and walked in the room. He barely gave it much more than a glance as he located a heavy wooden desk and pushed it in front of the door. Fortunately, the door opened inwards so it was successfully barricaded. For the moment. Johnny wasn’t sure that the desk could still be opened, since the desk had seemed light enough for him. I didn’t matter though. He began to demorph. And that was when he noticed that there were no windows in the room, or doors. Johnny was now trapped inside. <<Crap.>> ((Hope you didn’t mind, Mark, that Johnny attacked the thug. I couldn’t think of a way to deal with him without waiting for you to post without really doing anything. ))

((That's exactly why I leave them the way that I do, letting people do as they wish with expendable NPCs makes things interesting ;D.))
The moment Danny flew backwards, Sarah knew something was wrong. But when he started babbling about a monkey, she was certain that it had really hit the fan. Great, so there is another team in the city... "Hold back and go to plan B. Whatever it was went down towards the vault."
"The... It... Giant monkey..."
She rolled her eyes. "It's probably some andalite tourist. No other reason we wouldn't find an animal."
The stunned thug looked up at Azrael. "But what about the animo-"
"Gone, dead, who cares. Do you think war heroes like that would vanish for however long and still be on earth?" She rolled her eyes. "Look, I'll take care of it. You wait for the car..." She walked forward and picked up the twisted handgun. Definately not human. "Unless you want to help with this mess."
Shaken heads met the question as they went back to their positions, visibly shaken. Sarah smiled inwardly as she stalked down the hallway.
"Come out, come out wherever you are monkey man." She called softly, the raspy voice of her guise breaking the silence. She switched on the safety on the M1 and took off the bayonet, sliding that into a leg sheathe, before setting the weapon against a door jam. "Poor lost fool, did you ever figure out what happened before?" She concentrated and felt her body shift and crackle as it returned to her normal form while she talked. "Did you learn about what I did to them?" Her voice grew higher pitched and returned to the one she grew up with. She giggled and stretched as she paced down the hallway. "Nerve gas is a terrible way to go, you know. As are being hung or dying of blood loss... But to hear the mental screams of someone trapped in morph and eaten alive..." She licked her lips and sighed.
One closed door on this hallway and the vault, the guys had left these open when they searched the place. "I would guess that would be the worst, but then again who would be foolish enough to morph a bird to fight a cat, right?" She slid the grenade out of her pocket and set it on top of the doorknob before pulling the pin out and pulling back along the wall. It wouldn't be enough to kill, but it would certainly cause one hell of a mess.
She unzipped her clothing and started to morph leopard as she counted down from three... two... one... The explosion rocked the wall and blew the top out of the door, shrapnel embedding itself in the ceiling and desk inside the room. A throaty growl echoed down the hallway as a feline head peaked over the edge of the ruined door at her captive. <Oli Oli Oxinfree!>

As the last bits of wiry black hair vanished from his skin, Johnny searched for an escape. There wasn't one. At least, not one that he could see. He was about to turn back the way he came until he heard a voice in the hallway. It sounded like the guy had been yelling for hours and had a scratched-up throat as a result. But it still made Johnny freeze. It was then that he realized he'd been found out. Whoever these people were, they now knew that he was an animorph. It didn't exactly blow his cover, but now he'd totally lost any element of surprise whatsoever.
Johnny began second-guessing himself again. He was tempted to go right back out the way he came, but his common sense (what little he had) told him that there was no way an eagle, dalmatian, gorilla, or human could stay up against a human with at least one gun at the other end of the hallway. He'd be dead before he got ten feet. So that left wasp or gecko. The wasp could fly but the gecko was faster. What to do? What to do? It didn't help when the voice in the hallway began sounding higher, and then begin talking about how he, she?, was going to kill him. He didn't like the sound of that.
Suddenly, he had an inspiration. It was his gruesome imagination of what the now-girl was going to do to him that gave him the idea. Hang me? Good idea! Johnny smiled to himself but tried not to make a sound as he stole over to the side of the room and carefully climbed up on the filing cabinet, even though he was sure the low bangs and groans would've been heard intot he main lobby. It just barely stood his weight.
He now had just enough room under the ceiling to stand without hitting his head. But it didn't matter. When he'd been looking for a way out, he'd noticed that the ceiling tiles were the kind that were just loosely lying on metal beams. The kind that you could easily push up. He did so, and he moved the tile back, leaving a space there, just his size.
He began morphing, and not a moment to soon because as soon as his exoskeleton had covered his body, a loud explosion eviscerated the door and part of the top of the desk. Quickly, Johnny grabbed the edges of the ceiling tiles and pulled his jumbling and shifting mass of features up into the false ceiling there, barely avoiding splinters of wood. He began shrinking then, which helped him get up faster. But before he shrank too far, Johnny used his shifting hands to drag the tile back over the opening, hiding his escape route. He focused on finishing his morph in the rapidly growing amount of room he was in. Soon, he was a paper wasp, flying and crawling above the ceiling, searching for a way out.
It was then, as he found a small, pencil thin hole in a ceiling tile (one that was just large enough for his newly-slender body) that it suddenly clicked. The voice change, from male to female, the promises of eating people, and thought-speak? <<Oh my God!>> he said in thought-speak to Rox and Leopold. <<GET OUT NOW! It's Sarah! Sarah's here! And she just used a bomb or something trying to get to me. Plus she's in morph right now, and has morphed a human. >>
Johnny peaked his tiny head through the hole, letting his antennae try to pick up as much as he could. <<On second thought. Rox, you can come in.>> By then, Johnny was all the way out of the dark crawlspace above the ceiling. But he was having a bit of difficulty telling where he was. The smoke from whatever kind of explosive thath ad been used was messing up any scents he was getting. About the only thing he was sure of was that there was something below him. Something enormous, compared to him, and moving. Now he just had to find the door...

Rox took off into the air once again when she heard an explosion. She was momentarily worried about Johnny and Leo's safety until she heard Johnny's voice again. And then she was filled with a completely different brand of worry.
<<Sarah!>> Rox just about flew into a window. It was the murdering ex-animorph that they had been brought to Arbella to collect! What was she doing here?
Well, actually, that one seemed pretty obvious. She was robbing a bank.
<<Get out of there now, Johnny. NOW!>> They were not prepared to deal with that psycho right now.
Rox landed on the hood of one of the SWAT trucks. Nobody was in the cabin and the door was wide open. The driver was probably in a hurry and there were enough cops around that nobody would do anything with it. But nobody was paying any attention to it and Rox was grasping at desperate ideas.
She flew into the cabin, landed on the floor on the passenger's side, and began to demorph.
<<Johnny, where are you in relation to the front entrance? I think I might have a backup plan.>> Rox really hoped she didn't have to try her backup plan.

Johnny took a chance. He dropped into the room and began testing air curents. He could feel it coming from several places, and they started confusing him. Some of the currents would be disturbances from motion, and others would be from the door that was probably open. He choose the strongest air currents and flew towards what he thought was where the door was, trying to stay close to the ceiling and do his best to pull off a ninja-wasp.
After the long flight (only a few yards, though), Johnny felt that he was out in the hallway. <<Yeah, okay Rox. Um, Ya think? You think I should get out of here just because a cold-blooded serial killer who discriminates against people just because they have the freaky ability to turn into things, much like herself? I was planning on asking her out to a party on Friday,>> He buzzed along, following air currents. THe hallway that led to the room he'd been in had been a dead-end, so wherever the most air was flowing from, that would be the entrance to the main lobby, right?
<<Anyways. Uh, I'm somewhere near the ceiling in wasp morph, in a hallway that branches off from the main doors. Why, what are you thinking?>> Johnny asked Rox, while following the air.
