Allie hoped she wasn't too far, and got her answer when she'd started glancing around and had seen Jeremy motion her over. He must have spotted her after she'd thought-spoke. Nate swooping in to the others' location also helped guide her to the location from the ground. She hadn't been too far off it seemed. She padded her way over in time to watch Nate demorph and mention needing a bobby pin.
<<Hang on. I might have one of them. Just let me demorph.>>
The cat then proceeded to grow as Allie focused on her human self. Her tail slurped into her spine like someone eating a spaghetti noodle. Fur receded, except on her head where it grew out into her hair. Paws changed into her hands and feet, and Allie flexed her fingers missing having claws on the ends. Finally the cat's whiskers retracted into her face and she was human. After that she went digging through her hair until she pulled the necessary item out.
"Here you go," she said handing it to Nate. It had obviously been holding part of her hair back, but Allie didn't think anyone was really going to see her now aside from her team members so the mission had become more important than keeping her hair out of her face.

Leroy was glad to see that Allie had a bobby pin after all, otherwise the could have been out of luck. Well, actually, he could have probably found a way to get in as a bug, but that brought up a bunch of other possible problems. The unpleasantness, the squishibility, the possibility that he wouldn't be able to open the door from the other side anyway... No, the bobby pin idea was definitely better. Assuming it worked.
"Okay, master thief," Leroy said to Nate with a smile. "Do your thing. Let's find us some whale-chow." He just wanted to get this done and over with so that he could stop sneaking around at the place where he worked, petting the wild animals.

Jeremy was starting to get antsy. They'd been sitting there for a while. Apart from getting very little done, he was certain that at any moment someone would come along and find them. Of course, now he could at least hide in morph. Before, he would have had to turn into a falcon, which was little help. He still couldn't fight, though, which bothered him. Maybe he would fix that after this mission.
He glanced around, still trying to appear calm. He'd been about to smack his forehead for forgetting something so obvious as needing tools to pick a lock. It wasn't like him. He quickly went over the plan again in his head to make sure he wasn't forgetting something else.
What he was forgetting hit him in a rush. Jamilan. He would have to be an andalite for at least part of the time. So that he could acquire the whale. Jeremy glanced up at him. Granted, if someone spotted any of them acquiring the whale, there would be trouble, but if people saw an andalite... Jeremy new that there were still normal people who just didn't like aliens. Not everyone who was opposed to the andalites was a terrorist.

"Sweet, thanks," Nate said, bending the bobby pin out of shape and doing his best to rip off the little plastic ball at the ends. It usually worked far better with multiple tools, or something even thinner, like a paper clip, but he was pretty sure none of them carried paper clips on them to missions. It wasn't like they did paper work while chasing after bad guys.
"Thank God this is an older lock," he commented as he worked, pressing his ear to the door. "Or we'd be here forever." Finally after a few more minutes he heard the satisfying click of an unlocking door. "Bingo. Thank yoooou felony skills." He sat back. "Anyone else want to do the honours?"

Jamilan had a plethora of talents; however, picking one of those primitive locks wasn’t among them. Luckily, Nate was capable, or so he said he was. He left his perch and found a dark area near the tank, then demorphed, Andalite form re-emerging from his Andalite one. Now comfortable on four legs, the Andalite responded to Nate, having heard what he said with his strong hearing.
<I am unsure of what a ‘bobby pin’ is. However, I doubt anyone will have one of them on their person.> This was because of the fact that, in most cases, objects – even small ones – were almost impossible to morph. He was surprised when Allie revealed that she had one. <However I am proven wrong.> He remained in the shadows. He didn’t want to morph human; so much morphing to and from creatures was tiring.

Jeremy stepped past Nate, with a small congratulatory nod. Jeremy knew to give credit where credit was due, and this mission would be a dead end if not for Nate. However, time was of the essence. As in, they couldn't spend any time with little smart comments like "Anyone else want to do the honors?". Jeremy pulled the door open. The reek of fish washed over him and he almost had to take a step back. His hand jumped to his nose.
"So are we going with the 'just dump fish where we want the whales to be' idea?" he asked, grabbing a bucket of fish in each hand. The thin handle dug into his fingers, and there was an ever-present stench from each bucket's contents. He looked expectantly at Leroy.

Leroy was surprised when Jeremy looked toward him after asking what to do. It was one thing to have Jamilan looking to him in situations like this, but now Jeremy was too? Leroy suddenly felt uncomfortable. Leroy didn't see himself as the leadership type, but someone had to decide, or else they would be there all night.
"We might as well try it," Leroy finally said. "But... how about we try using the fish sparingly. At least to start with." Leroy walked over and grabbed one of the slimy fish from a bucket that Jeremy was holding, then walked over to the edge of the pool. He looked around to make sure nobody was watching, then splashed the water a bit with the fish's nose and tossed it into the water along the side of the tank. Hopefully one of the whales would come over.
"Alright, everyone get ready..."

"Man, this is by far the stinkiest place I have ever broken into," Nate commented, holding his nose tightly. "And that's saying a lot..."
He watched them closely as they tried to lure a whale in to acquire, and couldn't help but picture a very large mouth rising out of the water and taking Leroy's head off. He decided it might be wise not to say such a thing out loud. In fact, he was fairly proud of himself for biting his tongue.

Jeremy took a fish in each hand and tried not to gag. He dangled them over the side of the tank and waited. For a while nothing happened, but then he saw dark shapes moving through the water. The image chilled his blood, but he clenched his jaw and didn't move. A large black mass rose out of the water and he dropped the fish in surprise. Without missing a beat, he fastened his hands to the side of the whale and concentrated.
The whale seemed to freeze. It was going into a trance. He let go of his breath. "Anyone else?" he said. "Or should we just go?"

Allie waited as things moved forward until the point that Jeremy had the whale in a trance. She knelt down and put her own hand against the odd, black skin of the whale. This was just like any other time she'd acquire something, or she tried to tell herself that. It was her first water morph though. And it was definitely about as interesting as when she'd acquired the lion. But at least this time it's not likely what I'm acquiring will take my hand off.
When she had acquired it she moved out of the way. A few other whales had surfaced because of the multiple fish that the group had brought out to get their attention. It shouldn't take too much longer before they all had acquired the morph and could get out of here.

Jeremy stood and walked back to the shadows. "So, are we going to the gulf now or are we going home first?" Either way, I'm getting ready to leave. He thought of the falcon and started morphing. In just a few minutes, he was a falcon.
He beat his wings against the cold air and fought the wind until he was perched on top of the building. <<Well?>> he said. <<We kind of have a crisis we're supposed to be dealing with. Getting the whale morph was stage one, remember?>>

Nate moved in and got his hand on one of the whales as well. He hadn't been quite sure what to expect upon touching it, worried that it would be slimy or some such weirdness like that. But it almost felt rubbery to the touch. Wet, but rubbery. He concentrated his best on the whale, trying to block out the image of the orca chomping off his hand as he did so.
When he finally withdrew his hand, he gave a relieved sigh and then looked closer at the whale. Ah, he wasn't so scary. He looked rather friendly, really. Like a really big dog. Without fur and all the cuteness that surrounded a dog, that is.
"Huh." was all he managed to say.

Leroy squeezed in an opening among the animorphs as soon as he could and acquired the whale. Luckily it didn't sink down too far, otherwise they could have had problems. Even so, he was still getting nervous when another whale swam closer in order to investigate. That one wasn't in a trance.
Leroy pulled his hand back and stepped away from the tank as soon as the acquiring process was finished. "Interesting..." was Leroy's reaction. Nate seemed to be having a similar reaction. His mind began to wander as he thought about all the new possibilities that had just opened up to him.
Leroy stared at his hand for a moment before snapping out of his own pseudo-trance. He noticed that Jeremy had started to morph again, and when Jeremy spoke, he agreed. They had a task to do. Leroy concentrated on his duck morph again and ducked into the shadows as the changes began.

The next morning found Jeremy pacing impatiently, waiting for everyone else to wake up. He wanted to get this over with, and he wanted to know what was going on in the gulf. He was also sort of hoping that if they did this mission, the agents would reward him with information. He knew this was unlikely, though.
He had packed a small bag; it had just some clothes, one or two family relics that he kept with him whenever possible, and a book his dad had written about the andalites. Now that Jeremy lived with one, he was trying to make his way through the book. He figured it couldn't hurt.
He glanced at his watch and then in the direction of the others' rooms. "Hurry up," he muttered.

Jamilan wasn't complaining at all; in fact, he was pretty silent. Once the others had acquired the whale, he moved forward and did the same, placing his hand upon its slick skin, and concentrating, feeling the creature still at his touch. After a moment, he pulled away, sighing through his nose-slits at Jeremy, who was so persistent despite the fact that they were all doing their best to make good time.
He committed the whale's image to memory. He would need it. He commenced the vulture morph almost immediately.
---
The next morning, he found the keys to the van sitting on his dresser; he put them into the bag he'd put together the night before, which had a few things he might find useful. He had ventured away from human food; it was an unnecessary luxury, and he was on a mission. Luxuries waited until after missions.
He draped his clothing over his arm, then entered the main living area, and saw Jeremy there, waiting impatiently. He acknowledged him with a nod, then set his things down aside from his clothing and went into the bathroom to morph and change, soon returning as his human self.
