Leroy laughed and hee-hawed at Cindy's boyfriend trying to get his wig back from Xylia. It was certainly a sight to see! <<Sure, I'll wash it off for him,>> Leroy said when Xylia left the wig on the table nearby. He picked up the now disgusting hairpiece with his teeth and casually set it in the punch bowl.
<<I think that's enough payback,>> Leroy said with cheer in his voice. <<Lets get out of here before they shove us into the pens.>> He turned and headed for the door. It shouldn't be too difficult to get past the people herding the animals yet. They were still pretty disorganized. He exited into the night and slipped into the shadows between two buildings.

Everyone was watching the wig. Jeremy didn't know much about being an escape artist, but he'd gotten some self defense lessons. His father had paid for them, being the controversial man that he was. It hadn't just been defense during a fight, also defense when one was being pursued. Jeremy was by no means a master. He'd been beaten up several times despite his knowledge.
But he knew the value of hiding in plain sight.
While the spectacle with the wig flying around was going on, he crept back a ways and demorphed. By the time Leroy said he'd had enough, Jeremy was sitting at a table, watching the fun. He felt a little pride at how no one had noticed the metamorphosing human-donkey hybrid in the crowd. But then, these were drunk rednecks. He was surprised that they noticed the wig.
When Leroy said his piece about being done, Jeremy calmly stood up, and looked for a donkey and a goat that would appear to be escaping. He saw a donkey slip into the shadows between two buildings and followed it.

Xylia chuckles when Leroy dumps the wig in the punch. When he says that's enough the girl nods nods and runs for the back exit. With all of the other goats trying out the food table no one was paying attention to the one lone goat leaving the barn. Around the back, the little goat climbs over a few bales of hay before finding a comfortable spot inside and she begins to demorph.
She still wasn't used to the process so she kept her eyes clamped shut. When Xylia was sure she was finished the girl looked at her arms and then her legs, "Well everything looks normal at least." she says before hopping off of the bale of hay.
Xylia touches the ground with her bare feet and starts to sneak around to the front searching for two guys looking as ridiculous as her in their morphing outfits.

Once Leroy was out of sight, he began to demorph. He was startled and worried for a moment when he noticed someone behind him, but relaxed again when he realized it was just Jeremy. It would not have been a good situation if someone had seen him demorphing.
Before long Leroy was human again. He stood in the shadows with his bare feet and batman morphing suit on. "I suppose it wouldn't be a good idea to stick around for the party, huh?" he asked rhetorically. "I'm going to go hornbill. They don't really fit in on the farm, but it's dark out and they're better at takeoffs than my duck morph."
"It shouldn't be too hard to find Xylia," Leroy said before he was too far morphed to talk. "She's probably looking for us right now anyway. I'll send her a thouquawk squawk." His mouth had morphed. <<-thought speech message once I can.>>
<<Xylia? Can you hear me? We're in between some buildings by the entrance to the party area. I think we are going to be leaving soon.>> Leroy concentrated on finishing his morph.

"Hey, besides donkeys, what morphs do we have that really belong? I'm going peregrine again," he said. He made a mental note to get an owl morph whenever possible. The falcon had been nearly blind when they'd flown in, and there was no reason for him to believe that it would be any different flying away.
His beak was the first thing that formed. As Leroy sent out his call to Xylia, he began to shrink and grow feathers. <You think we're going to be leaving soon? What else are we going to do, stick around and watch them play piñata with actual donkeys?> He had no doubt that this was what they'd resort to. The big guy who'd beat up Leroy seemed like that sort.

Xylia couldn't find the guys without exposing herself to the open area and potentially getting caught. Kneeling before another bale of hay she takes a deep breath before beginning to morph back into the only morph she owned. Fox. The first thing to form this time was her tail. Instead of a horrific set of bones from her spine it came out fully formed and sort of cute. Xylia wagged the fluffy appendage around with a smile while her ears traveled up her head. The rest of the morph was more spontaneous with parts half forming and combining unexpectedly. While she finished her morph she listened to the boys.
Jeremy's remark made her start laughing. He didn't come across as the type of guy with a sense of humor, but that wasn't a bad comeback. <<So are you satisfied Leroy?>> Xylia asks him as she sneaks around the farm.
Finding the boys as a fox was no trouble at all. With her keen sense of smell she was creeping up to the two bird morphs in no time at all. <<I'm going to find the nearest bus station and catch a ride from there.>> she explains starting to walk away from the barnyard chaos.

When Jeremy mentioned the real donkeys being used as piñatas, Leroy hesitated for a moment. It never occurred to him that Cindy's boyfriend might retaliate against an animal, but now Leroy had his doubts. But Jeremy was just kidding anyway, right? That probably wouldn't actually happen. Leroy hoped so anyway.
<<Yeah, I'm more than satisfied,>> Leroy said in response to Xylia's question. <<Lets get outa here.>> And with that, Leroy launched himself into the air.
Down below in the light of the party Leroy could see the people still rounding up a few more of the escaped animals. He laughed mentally to himself. <<Thanks for your help guys. Good work. I think I owe each of you an ice cream or something.>> With a flick of his wing, Leroy angled himself in the direction that he thought the nearest bus stop would be in. It was time to go home.
