<<Can't say this morph will be very useful inside,>> Nate responded from where he now sat perched on a fence. <<Guess I'll chill here and keep watch too if you want.>>
Of course. He'd been so quick to pick a morph that would let him fly... he hadn't been thinking about the fact that it would be useless for anything but flying and watching. Boring. Man what a stupid idea this was...
<<Don't get yourselves killed without me or anything!>>

Nadia thought for a moment. "I suppose that would work. Should I be in my panther morph while I keep watch?" She felt cold, but didn't want to complain.
A barn cat, weevil, and gecko were possibly going in. A panther would be good back-up. They were fast animals, and knew how to fight when needed. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Nicolai took a cab alone to a place three blocks from the warehouse and walked the rest of the way, trying not to look out of place. He was largely successful. Although a few people probably recognized him as stranger, he didn't attract any special attention to himself.
He arrived in time to hear Nadia suggest going to panther. "Maybe a good idea," Nicolai agreed. "But you're acting like this might be some kind of trap or something. No one knows we work for SPECTER, and if SPECTER wanted to kill us, they wouldn't have to lure us out here."
He nodded towards the entrance. "You can morph if you want. But they told us to use extreme caution. And me, I don't think a panther screams caution. I think it screams fear and attracts a lot of attention. Morph if you want, but I think we're better off as is." He put one hand in his pocket feeling his knife. I wish they gave me a gun, he muttered to himself. Morphing's great, but it's not very useful at long range.

Nate finished burying his beak into one of his wings, scratching at an obnoxious itch, and then glanced back up. <<I dunno dude, I'm kinda thinking they gave us these powers for a reason,>> Nate suggested. <<You know... and then sent us on this mission, whatever it is...>>
He took off from the fence and swooped over to land on Nicolai's shoulder. <<Hey, do you ever smile? Just wondering.>> He glanced at the others. <<So... gecko, cat, and weevil?>>

<<Weevil huh? I guess that's my cue. Just give me a second to find a place to demorph.>> Then privately to Inyx he added, <<Try to stay out of trouble.>> He didn't quite trust the alien not to draw attention to herself.
It didn't take Leroy long to find a place to demorph. The place was mostly deserted, it was dark out, and there were pallets full of miscellaneous stuff here and there. He went between one of these pallets and a wall, then demorphed from dog to human. He didn't wait long before continuing on to his bug form.
As the last of his bug features formed, Leroy realized that he felt a little tired. Rapid morphing could wear you out, it seemed. He just shook off his slight weariness then took to the air and followed the wall. <<I'm going to try and slip in through a door, I guess. Maybe there will be a crack or something.>> Leroy was sure that there was a place where a bug could slip into the building, it was just a matter of finding it.

Johnny had stayed out of the conversation. The gecko's hearing wasn't acute enough to catch every word. It was doing great just to catch a few of them. But he did "hear" the thought-speak agreeing with his idea.
<<Sorry Inyx, I guess both of your walking partners have flown the coop.>> Since he was already in gecko morph, he merely jumped off of the girl's shoulder and heading towards the warehouse. <<Okay, Leroy. You find a door, I'll look for a window.>> Hopefully that wouldn't be too hard. Then he remembered how big the warehouse was. Maybe I should sneak through a door instead. So he began to locate a door. After all, it was easier to crawl under a door than wlak through glass.

Nadia heard Nicolai. "Well, okay then." She crouched down behind a bush and watched as Johnny and Leroy went in. Nothing will go wrong. Right?
Nadia shivered for a second before shifting her feet. They seemed to have been falling asleep and it always felt weird when they did that. She shook her head when Nate asked Nicolai if he ever smiled. Doubt it...

"Of course I smile," Nicolai answered. "You just have to paint it on." If he had been anyone else, that would have been a joke; or at least contained a trace of humor. But Nicolai rarely did the humor thing, and when he did, it was usually pretty dark.
He nodded when he saw Nadia demorph. "Don't worry. If things get hairy, you're not the only one with some power," he told her, thinking about Richard, the albino tiger at the circus where SPECTER had him working. It hadn't been too hard to get his hands on Richard just once. That was all he needed. If anything untoward was going down, they'd have to deal with a big, angry tiger.
"Okay...let's roll."

Nate laughed, or whatever the equivalent was considered in thought speak. <<You just gave me a million ideas that involve a sharpie and you passed out. Just sayin'. So, you know, keep an eye open next time you're napping, bud.>>
He glanced around and then picked out a telephone nearby. <<Alright, I'll keep watch from up there. You guys keep an eye on the ground.>> He took off away from his perch on Nicolai's shoulder and up to the telephone pole. He settled in and began surveying the area with his Kestrel eyes.

Inyx tried not to feel hurt by what Leroy had said. It didn't occur to her what he meant until a moment or two after, and by that time he was out of sight. Out of trouble? Was that all he expected of her? That she'd just muck things up?
SPECTER had chosen her just as well as they had chosen him, but that thought didn't console her as much as she wished it did. Pouting a bit (it was so hard to control this human face) she turned and found a curb to sit on. She would have plucked the gecko up and put him carefully on the ground, but he leaped off of her in a startling way. Maybe he didn't think she was very capable either.
Inyx huffed a little and rubbed the bottom of her human shoes against the ground, balling her hands into fists and setting her chin on them.

Leroy eventually lucked out and found a small opening into the building. Once inside, he buzzed around trying to scope the place out. But there was a problem with that plan. He had bug vision.
<<You guys, I am going to find a place to demorph. I can't see anything like this. I'll make sure to stay out of sight though.>> He told the others this so that they would be up to date on what was happening. Also, then they would be more likely to know the situation if anything went wrong.
He flew around for a long while, going up and down as he went, but everywhere seemed too cramped or too spacious. He eventually settled on demorphing up by the ceiling. What he assumed were crates of some sort were stacked really high. Nobody would see him if he were on top of them, right?
He decided to risk it. But even so, he demorphed slowly until he had human vision once again. It turned out he certainly was up high. He didn't much enjoy heights, and right now he had some pretty bad vertigo.
When he finally managed to collect himself enough to take a peak at what was in the warehouse, he was pretty surprised. Illuminated by the couple of fluorescent light fixtures in the building was a, what were they called, a bug fighter. Granted, quite a few had been recovered after the invasion, but they still were not something that you usually saw lying around. Especially in a place like this.
Leroy was now regretting that he wasn't in a morph, just because he couldn't tell his teammates what he was looking at. And he especially was regretting not being able to tell them about the people coming out of a side room. They looked like they were expecting someone to arrive.
