Name:
Tyler Abernathy, or Ty.
Gender:
Female.
Age:
19 (and a half, but who's counting?)
Appearance:
Being tall and skinny isn't always easy, but Ty pulls it off. She stands at about 5'9, and is practically nothing but bones. She has long, wavy dark brown hair, and big, equally brown eyes. She wears black, plastic glasses most of the time to help her nearsightedness, but also wears contacts for special occasions.
She doesn't keep 'in style', and prefers to dress casually and comfortably in whatever she likes, and she tends to stay in a dream-like world all the time. The only jewelry she wears (aside from special occasions, of course) is a very simple gold necklace with a small, circular pendant, with a small pearl embedded in it which was her grandmother's, and a soft, black, braided leather bracelet.
She is a dancer, and during her school years she studied almost all forms of the art - jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop, etc -, though her favorite style is lyrical. She tends to let her emotions out while she is dancing, rather than talking about her feelings or crying.

Personality:
Ty is a fairly easy-going girl, but she does has a temper, and when she gets mad you'd best get out of her way. She's quiet, but once you get to know her and she's comfortable around you, she lets you see her friendly, talkative side. She is often overwhelmed by the human race, and so she spends a majority of her life with animals - namely her dog, a Basset Hound named Bandit - rather than trying to sort out the emotions and such of peers.
She is fiercely loyal to her friends, and she tends to hold grudges against her enemies, not letting things go very easily, no matter how hard she tries. She tends to be more of a hang-back, stand-offish kind of girl, trying her hardest to be strong for both herself and her friends when times are hard, but sometimes she allows herself to wear her heart on her sleeve. She also doesn't trust very easy, but once you have it, it'll take a lot to break it.
Biography:
Ty grew up in a small town in Alabama, with her parents and two younger siblings. She attended the high school closest to her, and graduated with flying colors. She was awarded a scholarship to a local university for her talent in dance, but turned it down when her father got sick, so that she could stay at home and help with her siblings and the upkeep of their home.
She didn't have too many friends growing up, but she didn't mind. She always preferred to be on her own, even as a small child, and often wandered the woods behind her house as she grew up. But eventually, in high school, she met the love of her life, Aaron. They were engaged at the beginning of senior year, and planned on marrying after graduation, but Aaron was involved in a drive-by shooting, and died two days later, leaving Ty heartbroken, but determined.
She didn't really follow the invasion on the news, but after the fact she was very interested in the Animorph's story, always wondering what it would be like to live a life like theirs, but always knowing it was very far out of reach. She always felt like she would stay in that small town forever, but then SPECTER came, and changed that all in the blink of an eye.
How they were recruited:
Ty was at a local diner, eating a late breakfast, when a man wearing a black suit and sunglasses, with gelled-back hair and a frown on his face sat down in front of her. "Hello, Miss Abernathy."
Ty narrowed her eyes as she looked up at the man. "I don't know you, and I doubt I'll be interested in whatever it is you have to say, so if you'll excuse me, I'd like to finish my meal in peace."
A mirthless smile broke the man's composure. "Actually, I think you will be very interested in what I have to say." He paused, but continued when she looked back up at him. "I'm here on behalf of your government -"
"Oh please," Ty scoffed as she ate a bite of eggs. "That's the one opening line you don't want to say."
"If you'd please let me finish," she knew that the man was glaring behind his glasses, but simply looked back down at her plate and took another bite. "You have been chosen for a special job - you have been chosen to be an Animorph."
Ty calmly swallowed her food, then looked up at the man. "What am I supposed to say? That I'd be more than willing to put myself in danger, turn into... things other than myself, all because I love my government?"
"No," the man replied. "All you would have to say is that you'll agree."
"And what would happen if I did agree to this?"
"Well, we'd have to get the paperwork done first, of course. Then we would set about faking your death and moving you to your assigned city -"
"No." Ty's voice was flat as she answered. "No way I'm leaving my mom to handle everything by herself."
"Would you rather stay here, helping take care of your family, or get a new life in a new place, protecting your family every day." She knew he was looking right at her, even if he was wearing those black glasses. "And be able to move on, be able to start somewhere new, where no one knows you, and you can move on after the... unfortunate incident with Aaron?"
Her eyes got wide, and her voice was fairly coated with anger. "How do you know about Aaron?"
He smiled again. "We know everything, Miss Abernathy." He placed a card on the table, with scrawling numbers on it. "When you've made a decision, call this number." And with that, he stood and walked away.
As Ty hesitantly picked up the business card, reading the numbers written in red ink, she made her decision.
Preferred Job:
Dog walker. It may not be glamorous, but she's always been a dog person and would much rather spend her day with canines than any where else.
First morph:
Her Basset Hound. She believed that, when SPECTER recruited her, it was all a hoax, or a dream - she couldn't possibly be that special. So, the next day, she was just petting her dog, and decided to give it a try. And it resulted in a very confused Basset Hound, wondering where his master went and why there was another dog where she used to be.
