Naomi stood and looked at each of the kittens, unsure of which to get. They were all so cute that she didn't want to say no to any of them, but then one caught her eye. It was a black kitten that was different from the rest. "I think I'll go with that one." She smiled as she thought of a name. "Maybe I should call him BlackJack. What do you think?"

"Perfect," Johnny said with a smile. He then walked through an employees only door and went behind the cages. He scanned over the rows and found the right cage. He opened the door in the back and pulled out the playful looking kitten. He smiled as he held the ball of fuzz and fur as he closed the door and returned to the other side of the wall for Naomi.
He held the kitten out to her wordlessly and just smiled. He wanted to see her reaction. Heck, maybe she would even acquire the cat. It was up to her.

Naomi smiled at Johnny when he came back with the kitten. "Thank you." She held onto the kitten and it was a little fussy. She was afraid to put it down, so she acquired it, feeling her..no, him, no, her...it go into a small trance. "There you go..." she said softly to it.
When the kitten snapped out of the trance, it decided to try and play with her hair, causing her to laugh. "Do you have any string? Or a yarn ball to play catch or something. I think she'd try to eat my hair." She then tilted her head. "Have you ever thought of taking a pet home with you?"

Johnny felt a little uncomfortable, just standing there and was about to walk away and putter around when she asked him a question. Turning his head, he said, "Sorry. The only toys we keep here are ones in boxes to sell. Your hair will just have to do." A flirtacious smile flashed across his lips.
Then she asked about bringing pets home. "Gosh no," he said quickly. "We're not allowed to unless we buy them. And there is no way I'm going to pay this much for a dog or cat, thoroughbred or not." Then he glanced up at the clock. Four minutes left. They had already wasted more time than he had thought. The front door opened Melissa walked in. She was an employee on the next shift. Johnny felt that he could leave now.
"We can leave if you want," he said to Naomi. "My replacement's here."
((We can end this anytime you want. Or we can keep going.))
