Name: Hope Watson
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Appearance:
Hope is a fairly attractive girl. She has darker blond hair that has a wave to it on better days and her brown eyes have a fierce gaze to them. She's one the shorter side for height and that adds to an appearance that actually makes her look younger than 21.
Physically she has an average build. Nothing supermodel skinny, but not fat either. It's just natural and she makes it look good, keeping in shape with the active lifestyle she led before becoming an Animorph.
Personality:
Hope is a fierce and free spirit. She is a fighter by nature, which is part of why she was recruited to the Animorphs. She isn't the Xena Warrior Princess that Rachel was, thought mostly because Hope's fighting skills are Tae-Kwan-Do (sp?) and she doesn't fight unless she has to.
Hope has good morals, but is used to being self reliant. Working in a group leads her to getting into some trouble sometimes because she tries to be too much of a solo member. She knows when she's messed up though and always strives to do better than she thinks is her best.
Biography:
Hope was the only daughter in a family of five kids and the youngest child at that. Constantly overshadowed by her brothers or treated like she was weaker because she was a girl, she began to follow in their footsteps if only to prove she could do anything they could do. Hope was determined to not be the odd one in the family.
In fifth grade Hope started Tae-Kwan-Do (sp?). While her brothers each had their own sports, this became her activity and what she excelled in. She still played sports with her brothers, helping them practice, and often gave them a run for their money, but she had found her real sport of sorts.
Despite the athletic nature, Hope could still act like her parent's little girl at times. She wasn't enough of a tom boy to completely hate dresses, pink, or extremely feminine activities. In fact it was a break for her from her brothers every now and then that she enjoyed.
When the yeerk war came along, Hope was one of the lucky few who only heard about it from a distance and wasn't really directly involved as far as she knew. She always wondered after that how close she might have come to having a yeerk in her brain.
Hope was 21 and in college when she was approached by SPECTER to give up her current life and become an Animorph....
How they were recruited:
Hope glanced around the padded room as people left. Now that she was a black belt she was helping the Tae-Kwan-Do instructor teach some of the lower classes as well as continue her own training. She almost didn't notice a woman walk up to her.
"Excuse me," said the woman. Before she could say anything else, Hope interrupted her.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but only students are allowed in the classroom. I can direct you to the instructor's office if you'd like to sign up for classes."
The woman laughed. "That has nothing to do with why I'm here. I'm here to speak with you, Hope Watson."
Hope froze. She hadn't said her name and she wasn't wearing a name tag of any kind. "How did you know who I was."
The woman gave her a stern gaze. "My name is Agent Cassidy. I represent a government agency known as SPECTER, The Special Persons for Emergency Contracting of Tactical Enforcement Reserves. I am here because we, SPECTER that is, have taken an interest in you Hope."
Hope gave her an odd look. "Is this some kind of joke? The government has an interest in me? Yeah right. When are you going to crack a smile and tell me this is all a gag and show me the hidden cameras."
But Agent Cassidy's face remained completely serious and after a moment Hope said, "You're not joking, are you? But, why? What does the government want with me?"
"You've heard of the Animorphs, have you not?" Hope nodded and she continued. "What we offer is simple, we will give you the power to morph like Jake, Cassie, and the other Animorphs. In return you will become part of a government task force to help keep our planet safe from any new threats. You will be relocated and given a job where you can get morphs, but you will have to leave your old life behind for your own protection as well as the protection of those you love. If you agree to this task, Hope Watson as everyone knows her will have to cease to exist."
Hope stared at Agent Cassidy, wondering again if she would finally tell Hope this was all a hoax, but it didn't happen. Hope gave up on that and began to seriously consider the options. She could be part of the government task force of morphers and make something of her life, and yet her family would never know because to them Hope would cease to exist. SPECTER would fake her death or she'd just disappear without a trail to follow.
Agent Cassidy frowned as Hope seemed to toil over the decision. "If it's that hard to decide, then maybe we were wrong to approach you."
"NO!" Hope said, surprised at how quickly she had. But she always rose to a challenge when people doubted her. Perhaps Agent Cassidy had known that. "I'll do it. I just...... I wish I could say goodbye to my family is all."
"They'd be proud of you, and perhaps some day they'll be able to know what it is you're doing. Now, we have paperwork to fill out and we have to move you to where your group is stationed. Please follow me quickly, we have very little time."
Preferred Job:
Animal Rescue - Sometimes wild animals need emergency help too. Go out with the crew and try to get them healthy and safe again.
