"Remind me again why we are doing this?" Bruno asked Kita. He wasn't sure who's idea it had been, but somehow the two of them ended up coming to the conclusion that they should check out the caves near Hemington. Which made almost no sense for people like Bruno and Kita, in Bruno's opinion.
Bruno was a large man. Larger than most. And caves were full of tight spaces. Not a good fit for a person like Bruno. And Kita... Well she just didn't seem like the spelunking type. She seemed more like the type of person who would be interested in exploring a mall, rather than some holes in the ground.
But here they were, out in the wilderness searching for the entrance to a cave that may or may not be nearby. There was a place that gave official tours of the caves, but if Bruno and Kita went there they wouldn't be able to explore on their own. Which would probably be a good thing, but of course that didn't seem to matter for some reason.
"You see anyplace that goes underground yet? 'Cause I don't"

Kita scanned the hillside and spotted a waterfall, instantly intrigued. Maybe she had seen too many movies... but there was no harm in looking. She moved closer and reached through the water. Nothing.
"Hey Bruno, here's one. Remind you of anything?" she asked as she ducked through the water and into the opening behind it. A bit of batman, indiana jones... scorpion king. She wondered if there would be any hunky guys on this side. She laughed to herself. Highly unlikely. The entrance was a decent size, though it may not be much higher than Bruno, and it certainly didn't get higher. She hoped he wasn't claustrophobic. Not to mention it got a bit smaller. Suddenly it wasn't so bad being short, something she had complained about quite frequently and blamed her mom who was a flat 5'.
Fortunately her curves didn't follow that example. She made her way a short distance in before looking back. She didn't know how Bruno was about entering places, but wasn't keen on the prospect of getting run over by the brute.

Bruno looked over at Kita just as she disappeared behind a waterfall. "Huh?" He had not been expecting that at all. It was cool, but Bruno wasn't sure what reaction he was supposed to have. So he just walked over to the waterfall without really reacting much at all.
He stuck his hand into the stream. It was a little cold. "I don't know if I want to be all wet and in a cave, but here goes nothing." Bruno held his breath and lunged through the water. There was a moment of cold shock that he had expected from the water, but then he was through.
And ran into the wall behind.
"Ouch," he said as he rubbed his nose. He looked to his side where he say Kita. "Well, you found a cave. And a pretty cool one at that." Bruno had to duck a little, but he would just have to deal with it.

Kita muffled a giggle as Bruno hit the wall. It shouldn't be funny, but it was an automatic reaction. "Are you ok?" she asked, trying to be more sympathetic. At least he stayed through. Had it been her hitting the wall, she would have fallen back and ended up on her backside. She pondered that thought as she looked at the cave she had found. A part of her really wished she had some feline in her. She had a squirrel, but doubted that would do her much good in here. She squinted in the dark and sighed. It wasn't going to do any good. She had her flashlight in her purse.... but did that really count? Especially since it would chase away any possible morphs.
Mind you... even a feline would. Most night creatures would scare off others. She pondered an owl, when they were back outside at night. Then she could at least pretend to be wise. Not that it would really improve much. She reached into her purse and pulled out a hand towel, offering it to Bruno. She had two... why she brought them along was beyond her. Other than remembering caves were supposedly cold and damp. And she brought wet wipes to wash after.

"I think I'll be alright," Bruno said as he accepted the towel. He was a little embarrassed by what happened, but not enough to turn red. And for that he was grateful. He had already spent enough time feeling awkward around Kita as it was. He didn't need to add more to it.
Bruno handed the towel back. "At least one of us came prepared. All I brought was a flashlight and a tiny backup flashlight. Shall we go in? Ladies first." Bruno gestured toward the first tunnel of the cave with a half-smile on his face.

Kita flashed Bruno a smile as she tucked the towel away. "Don't worry, I'll protect you." She took out her flashlight, turning it on and led the way along the tunnel. "At least it's not a pyramid," she commented drily as she slowly adapted to the musty smell of damp earth. It smells good above ground... underneath it smelled a bit funky. She crinkled her nose.
As time passed she began to wonder if it was ever going to open up. How long had they been walking? it was long past time to tease Bruno. "Enjoying the view back there?" she teased. The tunnel was narrow enough that they could only walk single file... and Bruno would have to duck a bit since the ceiling was barely above her own head... and how much further Bruno was above that. She felt bad for him, but didn't want to stop until there was more space.

"There isn't a lot to see back here. Just the walls and- Oh." Bruno's cheeks turned red as he got the joke. Luckily he was in the back and it was dark.
"So, what is the plan if for some reason we get lost in here? Do we just wander around until we find an exit? Or are we supposed to wait around and somebody comes and finds us?" Bruno really doubted the second choice was an option since nobody knew exactly where they were. That thought made the cave walls seem a little tighter than they already were.
"Maybe we should have left a trail of breadcrumbs or something... Not that I am nervous or anything."
