Name: Roxanne “Rox” Cranston
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Appearance: Rox has somewhat short, dark hair and brown eyes. She stands at about five feet five inches and has an average figure. Her sense of fashion is nothing too out of the ordinary, but she leans more towards darker colors, and girly pink is a no-no. Even when she isn’t doing anything, Rox always looks like she has a purpose.
Personality: Rox used to bee a carefree party girl, but her time spent paralyzed after her accident caused her to become callous and bitter (see below). Although nobody knew this since she was only able to speak in blinks until morphing healed her body. Now Rox has an indifferent and cold attitude towards most people, and she sees no real value in the lives of animals or other forms of nature. She is not very talkative, but when she does speak it is straightforward and to the point.
Biography: After the news reached the public that the alien invasion had ended, Rox was among the many people who went all out and celebrated the victory. Her celebration was cut short, however, when the car she was riding in with some friends went too fast around a corner and slid off road and down a hillside. Rox was the only survivor, but barely.
Rox spent the next few years confined to a hospital bed. She was completely paralyzed. The only thing that kept her alive were the machines she was hooked up to, and the only part of her body that she could use for communication were her eyes. One blink yes, two blinks no.
Despite her physical maladies, Rox’s brain was fully functional. That may seem like a blessing to some, but it turned a bad situation into pure torture. To be able to think clearly, but not be able to carry on even a simple conversation made Rox wish for death. But even if she could have told this to someone, he father would have never let it happen. But maybe that was a good thing. In the end, it was because of her father that she was eventually healed. You see, Rox didn’t know it, but he father was a member of SPECTER.
How they were recruited: Rox laid in her hospital bed, same as always, staring at the ceiling. She couldn’t even turn her head sideways to see what was going on next to her. She could hear conversations though. The nurses talked to each other around her as if she were a piece of furniture, and they talked to her as if she were two years old. Why don’t they do the world a favor and drop dead, she though for the millionth time. Although she had the same thought about herself just as often.
Next thing she knew, an unfamiliar shadow fell over her face. Even though she couldn’t see the person who cast it, her gut told her it was someone different. “How are you today? Feeling well, I hope?” Two blinks. “Well… I suppose that is to be expected.” The man leaned in so that Rox could finally see him. She was right. It was nobody that she knew. “Maybe you will feel better after hearing what I have to say.”
The man then lowered his voice so that only Rox would be able to hear. “Your father has called in many favors and jumped through a lot of obstacles to make this offer possible to you. He even gave up his job in order to make this option viable, so I suggest you listen carefully.”
Rox was confused. She knew that her dad worked for the government, but she had never been told what exactly it was that he did. Whenever she had asked him when she was growing up, he would always give a vague answer and change the subject. So right now it was killing her that she was unable to ask questions about it. What was his job, why wasn’t he here, what was the offer?
The man disappeared for a moment and Rox heard the room to the door close and lock. Now she was getting nervous. “I suppose even you know of the animorphs, correct?” One blink. “Excellent. How would you like to be one?” Rox waited for the man to start laughing at his lame joke, but he didn’t. Instead he said, “This offer is very much real, so consider it carefully. Do you want to become part of a new band of animorphs?”
When Rox finally managed to convince herself that the man wasn’t fooling around, she gave one blink for yes. She would have done anything to get out of this place. Anything. But she still didn’t understand how this guy’s offer could be possible.
“Great,” was all the man said in response. “Normally we would take you to a secure facility for this next part, but these are extenuating circumstances. From within his brown suit jacked, he pulled out a blue cube and touched it to her forehead. She felt a shock flow through her body. “Did it work?” She assumed so, so she gave a yes. “Good.”
Next he pulled out a white bird, like a magician would use. He also touched this to her forehead as he explained the rules of morphing. “… and last of all, don’t stay in a morph for more than two hours, or you will be trapped in that form forever. Did you try to acquire the dove yet?” One blink. “Alright, then how about you try to morph now.”
This whole situation was so surreal, yet Rox managed to concentrate enough to start the transformation. She was unsure it was working until she saw her nose point out into a beak shape. Then, miraculously, feeling returned to her body. She had control again! She could move!
Rox continued the transformation anxiously. She wanted to have a full body again for the first time in over three years. She didn’t care if it was a bird body, as long as it was her bird body. However, as soon as she finished morphing, the man scooped her up in his hand and put her in his pocket. “I’m sorry miss Cranston, but we must leave as soon as possible. I will explain more thoroughly once we get to the vehicle.” From within the dark pocket, Rox blinked twice out of habit.
Preferred Job: Laboratory. She is a lab assistant who does odd-end jobs for the main researchers.
First morph: White Dove. See above.
Note: As long as this is in the Pending Profiles board, could people give me their opinions on this character? I also play Leroy, by the way, so that is why I would like the feedback. I feel kind of silly approving my own characters.
